When we first visited, the grounds were choked with trees and Johnson grass, the stone fence had fallen in places, and many of the tombstones were completely hidden from view. Several of the tombstones need to be repaired or replaced by professionals. This will take lots of work to maintain. This cemetery is visible from Louisville Farms Road.

Brashear Family Cemetery

Our team has successfully mediated years of overgrowth to reveal the long-lost headstones of the Hibbs and Brashear families. We are now focused on installing protective perimeter fencing and donor-funded seating to transform this site into a peaceful space for reflection.

McClellan Cemetery

This cemetery is on the Smith Farm just south of High Grove and west of Louisville Farms Road in Nelson County, Kentucky.

The Old Stone Cemetery

This fenced cemetery is on a private farm on Whitesides Lane in Cox's Creek. Elijah Stone's grave is here. He was born in 1825 and died in 1880. The Stone families are still residents of the Cox's Creek area in Nelson County. Stone family members are asked to join the Nelson County Cemetery Preservation Fund, Inc. and contribute to Family History Connections.

Montgomery Cemetery

A large family cemetery fenced by a rock wall contains 45 graves with monuments from 1'x2' to over 30' high. The Montgomery family and their off spring lived in the Cox's Creek area in the 1800's.

Restoring the Brashear Family Cemetery

This family cemetery is on a private farm off the end of T Hahn Road just east of New Salem Baptist Church on Deatsville Road in the Cox's Creek area. The graves were largely unmarked until the ground was explored and the volunteers found several buried headstones. Mary Brashear was the first wife of Alfred B. Brashear. When she died Alfred married Margaret Brashear and their off-spring of several generations still live in the Cox's Creek area.

McCellan Cemetery

The McCellan Cemetery is nothing but a field with a few headstones showing on the Jeanie Smith Farm. It will be cleared, tombstones uncovered, repaired, set on bases.
